Organic baby meals: recipes that (really) do the job

Introducing solids is an adventure. Exciting, sometimes confusing, and raising about a thousand questions a week: what texture, at what age, what quantity, which foods first?

No wonder our organic baby meals are so popular with parents: well chosen, they save valuable time without compromising on the quality of what goes into baby's plate.

What makes a good organic baby meal?

Its list of ingredients, above all. A good recipe is just a few readable lines: a vegetable (carrot, eggplant, zucchini, butternut squash, parsnip, cauliflower), good starches (rice, polenta, quinoa, potato), sometimes a legume (lentil), an identifiable protein (chicken, beef, lamb, pork, duck, shrimp, fish), a carefully chosen fat. That's it.

At Good Goût, an organic baby meal is just that: no starch to bulk up the quantities, no hidden sugars, no added flavorings. What you read on the label is exactly what baby has on their plate.

Organic, on the other hand, is our way of cultivating taste: ingredients from organic farming, without synthetic pesticides, in accordance with current regulations. A choice we've made from day one, simply because we like doing things this way.

Textures that follow baby's progress

A texture for every age. What changes as baby starts solids is not the nature of the foods, but the way baby discovers them, from the smoothest to the firmest:

  • From 4-6 months: very smooth puréed recipes, for a baby discovering the spoon. We often start with mild vegetables (carrot, sweet potato, peas), and offer foods one by one to reveal the true taste of each. We take it slowly.
  • From 8 months: time for mashed, blended, or dual-texture foods, and soft little pieces that baby loves to grab with their fingers.
  • From 12 months: firmer textures make their debut, raw fruit, bread, biscuits, when baby is ready to crunch.

Regarding food, a detail that changes parents' lives: according to Santé Publique France recommendations, there is no longer a fixed order. Vegetables, fruit, proteins (meat, fish, egg) and legumes can all be introduced from the start of solids, in a smooth form. What changes over the months, therefore, is not what baby eats, but the texture in which they discover it.

Always check that the age indicated on the packaging corresponds to your child's stage. Every baby progresses at their own pace, and that's perfectly fine.

The real luxury: introducing baby to lots of flavors

The advantage of our baby meals is not just to save you from peeling a parsnip at 7 p.m. after a busy day (even if we admit, that's already pretty good). It's also to introduce baby to a real diversity of tastes from the start: eggplant, zucchini, parsnip, cauliflower, butternut squash, lentils, vegetables that we don't cook every day at home.

And that makes all the difference. The more baby tastes varied flavors early on, including slightly bitter or strong tastes, the more easily they will accept new foods later. This is what parents tell us in their reviews, and it always makes us happy to read.

Why choose Good Goût baby meals?

Because we started Good Goût with one obsession: that baby recipes be as good as those we would like to cook ourselves when we have the time. And that they be impeccable in what's inside.

Concretely, that means:

  • Transparent compositions: identifiable proteins (beef, chicken, lamb, pork, duck, shrimp, fish), recognizable vegetables (carrots, beans, cauliflower), without thickeners or flavorings.
  • Nutritional values designed for baby: protein intake, quality fats, balance adapted to their needs, in accordance with current regulations.
  • A progression of textures: smooth, mashed, or chunked recipes, the recommended age is always clearly indicated on the packaging.
  • Organic, our starting point : all our recipes are certified organic, from the very beginning, except recipes containing MSC fish from sustainable fishing.
  • Recipes that babies ask for: and that's what their parents say in the reviews. We never get tired of reading them.
